A master's degree is considered an advanced degree in a specialized
subject matter. Students who earn their online master's degree generally
already possess a bachelor's degree. For most students, a master's
degree online will take about 2 years to complete. Some of this will
include time in which to write a thesis or to participate in an
internship. This, of course, will depend on the type of program that you
are enrolled in. A master's program will not usually require the
student to take any type of general education classes since it is
assumed that those were taken at the undergraduate level when the
bachelor's degree was earned.
