The online courses at VIU are completely internet based with no face to
face meetings. For the most part students work independently on their
own schedule. There are times when it is necessary to hold a group
activity or to have instructor support of student learning. The courses
are instructor-led but require self discipline. The teacher leads the
online course and manages the online forums. Instructors also monitor
and assess student progress and performance in the online classroom.
